Artist Lee Yu emphasizes the three-dimensional effect of paint and the texture revealed on the dry surface. Rather than recreating an already existing shape, it explores how the combination of human actions and substances is made into paintings. The work has a simple form that is a combination of canvas and paint. Artist Lee Yu recalls that the work he created by intentionally adjusting the flow direction and volume of the paint mass, not just by combining the materials, was not leaning on coincidence, but was an act that proceeded according to human intentions. After graduating from Hongik University's School of Art, Lee Yu has worked at the Graduate School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, France, and is based in Paris, France. After passing through the Paris International Art City of Residency in 2011, the 2018 Daegu Art Factory, and the 2022 Pium Residency, Young was selected as a moving-in artist at the Museum of Art in 2022, and works are currently in the collection of works at the Lyon City Hall and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in France.

이유 작가는 물감의 입체감과 건조된 상태의 표면에 드러나는 질감을 강조한다. 이미 존재하는 형상을 재현하기보다 인간의 행위와 물질의 조합이 어떻게 그림으로 만들어지는지 탐구한다. 작품은 캔버스와 물감이 합쳐진 단순한 형태를 지니고 있다. 이 유 작가는 물질을 조합함에 그치지 않고 물감덩어리의 흘러내린 방향과 부피를 의도적으로 조정하여 자신이 만들어낸 작품이 우연성에 기댄 것이 아니라 사람의 의도대로 진행된 행위임을 상기한다. 이유 작가는 홍익대학교 미술대학을 졸업하고 프랑스 스트라스부르 장식예술대학원을 거쳐 프랑스 파리를 기반으로 작품활동을 하고 있다. 2011년 파리 국제예술도시 레지던시와 2018 대구아트팩토리, 2022 피움 레지던시를 거치며 2022년 영은 미술관 창작 스튜디오 입주작가로 선정되었고 현재 프랑스 리옹 시청과 국립현대미술관에 작품이 소장 되어있다.
