Chae SeongPil 채성필

서울대학교에서 동양화를 전공한 채성필 작가는 2003년 도불해 고흐의 무덤이 있는 오베르 쉬르 우와즈 (Aubers-sur-Oise) 마을에 정착한 후 석사와 박사를 마치고 파리를 중심으로 유럽 화단에서 일찍이 주목을 받으며  국제적 작가로 활동하고 있습니다. 작가의 내면은 이방인으로서 ‘경계’를 허무는 근원적 의미인 ‘흙’ 이라는 영원불변의 재료로 세계적 공감대를 형성했다고 볼 수 있습니다.
채성필 작가는 유럽 왕실을 비롯해 파리 세르누치 박물관, 파리시청, 국립현대미술관, 영은미술관, 서울시립미술관등에 작품이 소장되어 있습니다.
