Kim Geuna 김근아

Artist Kim Geuna creates white porcelain sculptures based on her childhood memories of the strict observance of traditional household rules and her recollections of her grandmother.

The direction and joining parts of the works are fixed, which restricts the user's actions; this signifies respect for traditional etiquette. Meanwhile, the patterns engraved on the surface of the pieces contain a contemporaneity where traditional styles and interesting modern events and stories coexist.

김근아 작가는 어린 시절에 겪은 전통을 엄격하게 준수한 집안의 규율에 대한 추억과 
할머니에 대한 기억을 바탕으로 백자 조각을 제작합니다.
방향과 결합부가 정해진 작품은 사용자의 행동을 제약하는데, 이것은 전통 예법에 대한 존중을 뜻합니다.
한편, 작품의 표면에 새겨진 문양은 전통양식과 동시대의 흥미로운 사건과 이야기가 공존하는 동시대성을 담고 있습니다.
