Kim Young-sung 김영성

​Kim Young-sung (1973) uses hyperrealist painting to depict small creatures, which reflect contemporary people, contained within transparent objects.
The artist portrays modern individuals with vulnerable skin, who live in an artificial environment safe from the threat of predators, as living organisms highly sensitive to environmental change. Kim maximizes the image of these insignificant beings—who yearn for freedom but simultaneously desire the constraints of social structure and live in oblivion of that transparent framework—through the contrast between vibrant color and static situations.
His view of the world is a harmony of three elements: Nothing, Life, and Object (Matter), and through this, he explores the reason for existence. This artistic philosophy is revealed in the titles of his works: Nothing. Life. Object

​그가 세상을 바라보는 시각은 아무것도 아닌것과 생명, 물질 세가지의 조화이며, 이를 통해 존재의 이유를 탐구한다.
이러한 작가의 철학은 작품의 제목인 Nothing. Life. Object - 무.생.물 에서 드러난다.
